Greg Barton Award

Awarded to the winner of the Men’s K-1 Junior 1000m

(Note: previously awarded to 10,000m)

Greg Barton is a four-time Olympic Medalist and is the most decorated U.S. Olympic Canoe/Kayak athlete of all time.

  • Los Angeles 1984 Olympic Games: BRONZE in K1 1000m
  • Seoul 1988 Olympic Games: GOLD in K1 1000m and GOLD in K2 1000m with Norman Bellingham
  • Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games: BRONZE in K1 1000m
  • Two gold medals in the 1987 World Championships
  • Gold medal in the 1985 World Championship K-1 10,000m

Greg went on to found the Epic Kayak Company and continues to compete in national and international kayak races while promoting his well designed and built paddles and kayaks.
